Tai Chi Classes
Tai Chi Chuan is a traditional Chinese art form that has been practiced as a daily exercise routine for centuries in oriental cultures to promote good health, well being and enhance mobility and balance. There are various Tai Chi styles, including Chen style, Wu style and Yang style. The Yang style forms are comprised of slow, flowing motions that require continuous, movements involving the shifting of body weight and circular movements of the body, arms and legs. Tai Chi emphasises conscious awareness of body position and movement while bringing mind and body together in harmony. In 2001, the government pointed out that this type of adapted exercise can improve strength, flexibility, balance, mobility and posture control for all age groups.
